Access to the Trailhead
To begin the hike to Cascade de Paradis, it is recommended to park near Habitation La Grivelière, a 19th-century estate originally established by Jacobin monks and now classified as a Historic Monument. La Grivelière is famous for its coffee and chocolate production, although it is currently under renovation.
Alternatively, you can drive a bit further along the road to get closer to the trailhead.
Hiking Route
The 4 km round-trip trail is located entirely within Guadeloupe National Park. It takes you through dense tropical vegetation, where you can spot a variety of plants and trees, including local apricot trees, ylang-ylangs, and giant ferns.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Grande Rivière de Vieux-Habitants, with its crystal-clear waters and massive rock formations.
The trail is not marked and has a moderate difficulty level, making it accessible to most hikers. However, checking the weather forecast before starting is essential, as the route involves several river crossings.
